Fricon Entertainment Terri Fricon
Terri Fricon's career in the music business has moved between the world; of record. film. and music publishing. and the Fricon Entertainment Company is the culmination of all her experience. Started in 1981 it allows her to pursue all her areas of interest on behalf of clients who have become more like family. In addition to administering 32 publishing catalogs besides her own 3 companies. Fricon, Fricout, and Now Forever, she also acts as a music supervisor for films and TV.
"I formed the company to get back into a small hands-on situation. All the people I work with are friends that I love, that 1 enjoy spending my days with." says Fricon. "In an industry where relationships don't always endure, it's great to work with people I've know for such a long segment of my life."
The roots for Fricon Entertainment even predate her professional career - she actually went to high school with both Tony Butala of The Lettermen and songwriter Richard Addrisi ("Never My Love). whom she now represents. Her first job was at Fred Astaire's Ava Records. which also exposed her to the publishing industry. Songwriter Tommy Wolf was the vice president and drummer Jackie Mills was president and Fricon now represents both of their publishing catalogs as well.

Mills was also Fricon's partner in Wednesday's Child Productions, which produced Bobby Sherman's hits in addition to being the music supervisor, publisher, and producer for the Bradv Bunch songs, including "It's a Sunshine Day." Fricon continues to represent the Bobby Sherman hits "Little Woman." "Julie Do Ya Love Me. " " La. La. La (If I Had You)" and "Hey Mister Sun.' as well as many of the songs the Brady's made famous.

She was president of the Filmways Music Group, which was her last venture prior to forming Fricon, and the company became her first client. A division of Filmwavs ( which produced TV shows such as The Beverlv Hillbillies and Green.Acres, and feature film: such as Save the Tiger, Dressed to Kill, and Summer Lovers, they continued as a client until the company was acquired by MGM
Fricon Entertainment's catalog hay gone well beyond its roots in "bubblegum" pop. The company now holds film catalogs, with primarily film scores: R&B/gospel with the catalog of the Rev. Isaiah Jones. Jr.. who had a hit on the recent Mary Mary album with "God Has Smiled on Me": Tommy Wolf's great jazz catalog, which includes "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most" and the 1950's musical The Nervous Set, which starred Larry Hagman (the original cast recording was recently re-released by DRG ): The Lettermen and their catalogs: Country/Pop with Austin Robert, who had a top 10 hit with "Rocky" and co-wrote/produced several hits including Lee Greenwood's "I.O.U." and Kenny Rogers" "When You Put Your Heart Into It. and Galilee of the Nations with songs in English and Hebrew celebrating the life of Jesus.
Fricon also acts a; music supervisor for virtually all the projects for Frank von Zernech and Bob Sertner's von Zerneck/Sertner Film, one of the leading independent suppliers of long form television with more than 100 movies to their credit. Fricon just finished work on a number of network and cable projects. including Lifetime's, I Do But I Don't: Dynasty: Behind the Scenes for ABC: While I was Gone, starring Kirstie Alley, for CBS: the George Lopez Christmas Movie for ABC: and Vinegar Hill for CBS. In all. she reckons that she has supervised music for about 60 theatrical films. almost 200 TV movies and over 1,500 hours of episodic TV including the entire run of Cagney & Lacey from pilot through the reunion movies.
In addition to her deep connections in film. Fricon looks to pursue all avenues for her catalogs. “One of the best songs we have for advertising and product tie-ins is "It's a Sunshine Day,” which has even been included in a Marcia Brady dancing hamster toy! We co-published that song with Famous Music and we work closely with Mary Beth Roberts there, who is the best says Fricon
“We're small but we get things done” adds Fricon. Fricon maintains offices in Los Angeles and Nashville and is quick to credit office manager Jan Morales as a godsend she makes everything work. Projects manager Steve Pope "a real people person and L.A. office manager Logan Alexander, who is not afraid to tackle any thing. We are a great little family.
"It's a cliché but we really care," says Fricon. You have to get up each day wanting to do the best job you can for the people who are counting you, I care about each act I work with on a personal level. My newest client has been with me for nine years! It's got to be a labor of love
